Lures all around

 Birmingham, Al

Hanging pitcher plants are some of natures best tricksters.  Decked out in wild designs they beckon insects.  Once under their spell those insects don’t have a chance….they’re trapped. I marvel at all the lures dangling in my world.

An invitation

 Birmingham Al…Christmas morning

It is Christmas morning and how lucky I am to be where I can feel this as a “Hello world you wanna play?” kind of morning!

Family Vacation

 New Orleans, LA

Seeing the statue I imagined some vacationer posing in front of it for a picture.  Then the scene shifted and I imagined the pigeons were posing for their own vacation shot.

This picture has two reminders for me.  First, keep a tight hold on my imagination…or not.  Second, that humans are not the only beings in the world with agendas and lives to lead…how do I know those pigeons aren’t posing for pictures.

Look-Alike

 Birmingham

Roxie kept trying for a new look, I think she nailed it with Scheherazade.

Don’t give up too soon!

He almost made it but Kona got discouraged and pooped out just a little too soon!  Reminding myself with just a bit more trying I’ll get where I want to go.

Sometimes Boogeymen abound

 Birmingham, Alabama

December 2021

Sometimes boogeymen lurk all around.  When they threaten I cause my life to swerve off course to avoid facing them.  Then I remember that many of them are really reflections of my fears.

What your thoughts do to the scene

 Birmingham, Alabama

December 2021

The top picture is actually how the scene looked. When editing it I would look at the picture and the scene gave me such a feeling of abandonment and loss that I decided to change it.  Just by adding the two red dots for tail lights the energy completely shifted for me.  Now I was hopeful, now there was forward movement.  I somehow felt I could catch up and undo the leave taking .  So, I started looking at other areas where I am looking at something in my life one way and wondering what the addition of a couple of red dots would do to change my perspective.

Using photos as metaphors!

Alpine, Alabama

December 2021

You are something!

Often, I just see things and they shout, but sometimes whisper messages to me, so that is when I grab a picture.  Being a visual person and having my phone glued to my hand that is easy.  Pictures work much better when I want to hold on to a memory.  Tried downloading whole articles that speak to me and just ended up being lost in all the info out there.  For me it is absolutely true that a picture is worth a 1000 words.  I discovered blogs I had written years ago that I thought were lost.  That has encouraged me to do some more with blogging but with a bit of a different slant...that means doing it how I darn well want at the time.  I want to use pictures that speak to me and pass the message on.  When the idea is but a whisper I love photo editing apps so you will get what I saw in the moment...sometimes my quirky just has to escapes. Other times the instance is just yelling to look and those images are straight forward.

For the first in the series, I want you to meet Kona. The moment was giving me the message to pour a little, or lot of, love and trust in myself and...hey girl get goin'!
